There is a huge fabric sale going on at Fabricland this weekend – 50% off pretty much everything in the store for members. The closest one is out on South East Marine now that the West Van location has closed. It is a bit of a drive, but that one has always had the best selection of decor fabrics, and I usually go there anyway.
This was my haul for the day:
These are super high quality decor fabrics, really thick and great for upholstery. I’m in the middle of creating a tutorial post on reupholstering chair seats, which I will hopefully have out in the next couple of days, and I talk about the fabric weight there so I won’t go on about it here.
I could have bought 3 times this much, but I already have such a hoard that I tried to rein it in a bit. Red and white medallion damask (don’t know, but Lindsay’s been bugging me to paint something in Charm School Red); a beautiful Jacobean pattern with a mix of reds and greens, I just loved the fabric; Navy geometric, I’m thinking a bergere update with Bauhaus Buff on the wood and this for the upholstery; and last, the whole reason I went over there, a hot pink and white geometric to cover the seat of a chair I purchased this week.
I’m finally going to try the Amy Howard at Home High Performance Lacquer spray on a real piece of furniture, I’ve only used it on picture frames so far. I figured I might as well go big, so Begonia it is. Irene just got back from Bainbridge with a huge pile of catalogues for me and these types of chairs were all over Ballard and Wisteria. I’m hoping to do the project this week so stay tuned for the reveal post.
Just thought I would share, you really can’t beat a sale like this and its only on until Sunday 🙂
