The Next Chapter

The beginning of a new year is always an inspirational time for me.  There is something about the ‘clean slate’ feeling that always energizes me and motivates me to create goals, make plans and set my intentions for the year.  2018 saw some big changes in my life, the biggest being the sale of Posy at the end of November.

When I started this blog several years ago under the Posyhome name, I had hoped that I would be able to manage both the shop and my burgeoning design business that encompassed the selling of AHAH paints, antiques and vintage pieces, teaching workshops, and consulting.   However, with both businesses growing rapidly,  it became too much to handle and I had to scale back and focus on running the shop.  It quickly became clear to me that my real passion was decor and antiques, and after a lot of consideration I decided it was time to move on from Posy and forge a new path.  I am very happy with my decision, and excited to be turning the page and embarking on this next chapter.

As of the first of this year, Kristin Ames Design is officially open for business.  I will be working with homeowners looking for assistance with their renovations – putting together color palettes, helping with the selection of fixtures and finishes, and sourcing furnishings and decor. I will also continue to sell the Amy Howard line both online and from home, so please don’t hesitate to reach out through email if you need paint or supplies (I am on the North Shore and can arrange for delivery or pickup).

Despite my intention to take a few months off after finishing with the transition at the shop, I have already started working with clients and am thrilled to be doing so – it doesn’t feel like work to me at all.  As of today I will be picking up where I left off with the blog,  posting here and on Instagram with tutorials, before and afters, tips and tricks, and anything else I think might be helpful or inspiring.  Please get in touch if you have questions, comments or any suggestions for me – I would love to hear from you.
